Most island homes have a list — the door that sticks, the gutter that overflows every November, the deck board that’s gone soft, the shelf that’s been in a box since spring. I work through the list.
I’m Ben Henkel. I live in Friday Harbor and I run San Juan Islands Handyman. Small repairs, seasonal maintenance, and ongoing property care for homes across San Juan Island and the rest of the San Juans — including the outer islands the ferry doesn’t reach.

Monthly property care for owners who aren’t here year-round. Scheduled walkthroughs, photo reports after every visit, and coordination with other trades when something needs a specialist. You get a text and a photo set, not a surprise in April.

Where I work
Based in Friday Harbor, working across San Juan Island — town, Roche Harbor, Cape San Juan, False Bay, and everything between.
I also run scheduled island days on Orcas, Lopez, and Shaw, and I take my own 16-foot skiff to the outer islands the ferry never reaches — Decatur, Blakely, Waldron, Stuart, Center, Crane, Henry, Johns, and Brown. If you’re off-island, get on the list and I’ll come over on the next run.
